Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI) is established by Karnataka German Multi Skill Development Centre (KGMSDC) society. The primary mission of the Training Center is to conduct a broad based multidisciplinary vocational training in various Industrial Technical Fields, directed towards the development of skills and trades and to become a world class training center that represents specialized trade training programs in alignment with the Industry requirements across the globe. Other sister institutes are set up at Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Belagavi and Hubbali.


All programs follow German vocational education and training standards that are demand oriented and directly imply a close relationship with industry. To provide International Standards and Hands-on training the center is equipped with extensive state-of-art training facilities which are incomparable.

With its world-class vocational training centers, KGTTI has set a benchmark in skill development. The focus is to offer skill-specific training that will help students find excellent job opportunities in the global workplace and encourage entrepreneurship among the youth.

KGMSDC society is recognized by Government of India and Government of Karnataka with technical support of German International Services (GIZ-IS). KGMSDC is a registered society formed under Society Registration Act 1960. The registered society has members from Government of India and Government of Karnataka, complemented by local stakeholders and representatives of industries, chambers and academia.

Duration : 270Hrs/ 3 Month.
ELIGIBLITY : 10 th/ITI

Objective : At the end of the training course, the trainee should be able to understand SMAW welding fundamentals and its processes, identify the major parts of the machine and the different equipment, set up and shut down the SMAW equipment and know how to maintain the machine. The trainee will know and use the proper safety procedures and equipment in SMAW, learn the different shield gases and the common types of SMAW electrodes and know the differences between them and know how to weld mild steel and stainless on square groove butt, lap, T, edge and corner joint in different positions. The trainee will be able to make use of the most common edge preparations and the different weld joint designs and also identify problems and weld defects and know how to correct them.

Objective : At the end of the course, the participants should be able to know the differences between the most common welding technologies and the GMAW (MIG) welding process. They will also learn the different shielding gases and the common types of wire and their costs, identify the most important parts of a MIG/MAG welding machine, know how to change the machine parameters and the working and consumable parts of the machine. The students will be able to make use of the most common edge preparations and the different weld joint designs, know how to weld mild steel with different techniques, positions and joints, identify welding defects and know how to correct them, make use of different grinding machines, know and use the proper safety procedures and equipment

Objective : The Course is designed to instruct welders in arc welding safety and the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process (SMAW- Stick) of welding pipe. The student shall be able describe equipment and required pipe preparation. The student would be able to perform 1G, 2G, 5G, and 6G welds using various electrodes

ELIGIBLITY : 10 th/ITI

Objective : Set-up, prepare & Perform MMAW-TIG-MIG-Welding welding operations interpreting the right information, right consumables and raw materials, etc. and use the same in a safe manner ensuring safety for self, others and the work environment. Assess weld quality through visual inspection. The candidate will be expected to perform under supervision and as per instructions given, taking personal responsibility for some actions, solving problems in the course of working and for the quality and accuracy of the work produced.

Content of the course : The course provides training in

  • MMAW-SMAW 250 Hrs.
    • Performing manual metal arc welding (MMAW) welding also known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) for producing various types of joints on carbon and low alloy steels in 1G/1F, 2G/2F, 3G/3F and 4G/4F welding positions as per specific instructions given.
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG/GTAW) 100 Hrs.
    • Perform manual & semi-automatic welding operations using Metal Inert Gas/Metal Active Gas Welding (MIG/MAG) also known as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) for welding joints in ASME IX 1G/1F, 2G/2F, 3G/3F and 4G/4F positions as per welding procedure specification (WPS).
  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG/GMAW) 100 Hrs.
    • Performing Manually, Tungsten Inert Gas Arc Welding also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and independently carry out TIG (GTAW) weld operations for welding joints in ASME IX – 1G/1F, 2G/2F, 3G/3F and 4G/4F positions as per welding procedure specification (WPS).

Objective : The overall objective of the course would include improving the Level of skill of workers in manufacturing and Design industry and increasing the economic potential of the country. In addition, the course shall include the following:

  • Provide industry with workers whose scope with job knowledge and skills in Product Designs and 3 D Modelling is identified.
  • Provide training to Fresh passed out students and make them ready for industry with job knowledge and skills in the area of CAD/CAM using MasterCAM.
  • Assist in human resources development by providing precise and assessed country’s skilled manpower quantitatively as well as qualitatively.
  • Create an incentive and desire for workers to attain a high level of knowledge and skills competency in their respective trade / profession.
  • Establish a co-ordination among employer’s, workers and government relating to human resources development programs.
  • Provide technical and on vocational training basis which reflects the requirements of industry.
  • Facilitate the mobility of skilled workers.

  • Use of Mouse & Key board for CAD understanding & setting of CAD etc.,
  • Overall safety regulations, Introduction to CAD systems and its configuration.
  • Covers theory and practical input to all topics and CAD Interface using MasterCAM
  • Each lesson starts with step-by-step instructions followed by exercises
  • Practicing the commands learned within that lesson
  • Work on specific projects of application of MasterCAM for their job requirements
  • MasterCAM Training covers the software which integrates industrial design, geometric modelling, advanced analysis, graphic simulation and concurrent engineering.
  • Software have solid modelling design tool that takes advantage of the easy-to-learn windows graphical user interface. This also enables the simulation and generation of cutter tool paths
